Charities that serve the needy face increasing demand for services. Meanwhile, their fundraising efforts are hampered by the recession and by the fact that other charities are facing the same challenges. In December, Major Todd Smith, Birmingham Area Commander for the Salvation Army, will share his strategies for getting out the Army’s message in these times. On the same day, Alabama PRSA will conduct a Diaper Drive for the Salvation Army – so be sure to bring along a box of diapers to help a needy family.
