Have you tried to pitch a story to a national media outlet and never heard back? You even had a friend recommend another media friend to pitch your story but still no luck. What about getting so bogged down in other work that you’ve run out of time to work on your company’s newsletter. (In the past three years, companies have increased their outsourcing by 22% on the internet).

Have you thought about approaching a freelance writer to help pitch your stories or even write your newsletter?

In the media search engine, Cision, there are more than 2,000 freelance writers listed. In Birmingham, there’s an organization for freelancers called Alabama Media Professionals. These writers cover a wide range of topics from art, travel, science, education, entertainment, health and so on. And they get published in the Washington Post, New York Times, Newsweek, etc.

You want to get published, and they want to get paid. So why not use this avenue. Moderated by Garland Stansell of Children’s Health Systems, find out how your local freelance writers can open doors that you can’t. Plus, see how you can put their skills to use on your company newsletters and/or website content.

Please RSVP by Friday, April 4 at noon
