The native Alabamian, Don Logan made headlines in The New York Times in 2003 less than a year after being named chairman of AOL Time Warner's media and communications group. “Logan is oftendescribed as an apolitical, unpretentious man with more interest in outwitting fish than corporate foes.

Even so, he seems to have an equal affinity for both endeavors. After 10 years of running Time Inc., one of the company's smaller and more stable divisions, Mr. Logan last summer secured one of the top three positions at AOL Time Warner, the world's largest media company.”

Logan’s career started at Southern Progress Corporation in Birmingham in 1970. He was later tapped at the helm of Southern Progress where he took a stagnant company and tripled its earnings. Nine years after Time, Inc. acquired Southern Progress, New York came calling as Logan became the Chairman and CEO of Time, Inc. He is now the Chairman of the Board of Time Warner Cable.

Logan will tell you it’s a different ballgame on the national level. How you pitch to the local guys won’t work in the big leagues. Logan will give you some tips on how to get the national media’s attention.
