

Scholarship Award
PRSA Alabama Chapter Sponsored Student Scholarship
An annual $1,000 scholarship honors an outstanding public relations major within the state of Alabama who is a student-participant in the PRSA Alabama Chapter Mentorship Program.
The award is presented annually every spring to a Mentor Program graduate.
Qualifications include:

have participated in the one-semester long PRSA Alabama Mentor Program

Submit a letter of recommendation from their mentor

Submit a resume
-
Submit a complete scholarship application
-
Be a member in good standing of his/her university PRSSA chapter
-
Hold a 3.0 GPA or higher out of 4.0

Be a junior or senior public relations major
-
Submit an official transcript

The first student scholarship recipient was for school year 2008-09. Melinda Thornton (pictured left) was the first student scholarship recipient. Melinda received the scholarship from PRSA Alabama Chapter officer Hallie Bradley at the 2009 PRSA Student Summit. Melinda is a University of Alabama (UAB) public relations major and UAB PRSSA officer.
